Questions?

How long will this knife stay sharp?

It really depends on how often you use the knife, and what items you’re cutting. When tested in the rigors of a professional kitchen, the Misen knife outperformed brands that cost 30-50% more. However, no knife — including Misen’s — will stay sharp forever. When the blade starts to dull, we’ll have our expert sharpeners bring it back to its original glory for you, starting at $11/knife.

Does this knife require special care?

Misen high-end knives are extremely easy to care for. Avoid the dishwasher, wash and dry after use, and you’ll never have an issue with your knife.

What are your blades made from?

We craft our Chef’s Knife with premium Japanese AUS-10 high-carbon stainless steel for two main reasons. First, it’s a steel that offers an excellent balance between toughness, durability, and razor sharpness. Second, it has 2x the carbon content of some other “premium” brands, which helps the edge stay noticeably sharper for a longer time.

How can your knife be as good as other high-end knives if it costs so much less?

Most knives cost so much because of traditional retail markups and other fees. You’d be shocked to know how little many well-known “premium” knives actually cost to make. By partnering closely with our factories and selling directly to you online, we’re able to offer an incredible knife at wholesale pricing with absolutely zero markups. Better materials, lower price.

Does it make sense to buy one knife, and not a set?

The single most important tool in your kitchen is the chef’s knife — it’s the workhorse you reach for most often. Investing in one great knife now will change your cooking for life. We actually designed our chef’s knife to replace entire knife sets; with a 15º blade angle and hybrid Japanese/German design, this knife can do 99% of your kitchen cutting.

But if you’re interested in a set, we offer 3- and 5-piece sets including our other knives — including Paring, Serrated, Santoku, and Utility — in addition to the Chef’s Knife.

How does your warranty and trial work?

We’re 100% confident you’ll love your Misen knife. Confident enough to give you a 60-day in-home trial. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, just send it back for a full refund. All Misen knives come with a lifetime warranty against defects. We will replace any defective knives.

    Great for sourdough!

Bought this based on a recommendation to use with my sourdough loaves. I hate how some knives crush the bread. This knife works great!

    Very Sharp Knife

Beautiful sharp bread knife, works Great!

10-Inch Serrated Knife in White

The 10" Serrated Knife in white is Misen’s longest serrated option, built for clean, confident slices through breads, cakes, and big fruits without crushing soft interiors or tearing delicate layers. It pairs AUS-8 Japanese steel with unique wave-style serrations, so you can get smooth cuts on everything from tough crusts to tender crumb while keeping the knife comfortable and controlled in hand.

This blade uses AICHI AUS-8 (Japan) steel and is rated at HRC 58±2, a combination chosen for sharpness and edge retention. The grind and edge are specified as a single blade with 32 wide-set serrations, which helps the knife “bite” at the surface and keep moving forward with less pressure. If you are comparing within Misen’s lineup, you can browse more serrated knives to see other styles.

The 10" format is most noticeable when you are working with wide loaves, sheet cakes, or larger fruit where shorter blades can force you into sawing back and forth. With a 9.5 in. blade length and 15 in. total length, this knife is designed to help you finish a slice in fewer strokes. Misen also calls out a balanced blade thickness meant to handle both delicate slices and tougher crusts, so you are not switching tools mid-task.

For comfort and control, the knife includes an ergonomic sloped bolster for a natural grip, plus a durable POM (polyoxymethylene) handle for strength, comfort, and hygiene. If you are building out a full prep kit beyond bread and pastry work, Misen’s kitchen knives category is the quickest way to compare the rest of the core blades side by side.

Care is straightforward: hand wash, then dry immediately after use. For maintenance, Misen recommends sharpening every 4 to 6 months, and the brand also offers a mail-in knife sharpening service if you prefer not to DIY. When you are done slicing, consider protecting the edge and keeping counters clear with options from knife storage.

Frequently Asked Questions About 10-Inch Serrated Knives

What foods is this 10-inch serrated knife best for?

Misen positions this as its longest serrated knife for breads, cakes, and large fruits. The wave-style serrations are designed to slice cleanly without crushing soft crumb or tearing delicate layers, which is especially helpful on crusty loaves and tender cakes.

What are the exact dimensions and weight?

The specifications list a 9.5 in. (241 mm) blade length and a 15 in. (381 mm) total length. Weight is 8 oz (228 g). Those numbers can help you judge reach and storage fit, especially if you use a drawer organizer or a block with shorter slots.

What steel and hardness does the blade use?

The serrated blade is made with AICHI AUS-8 steel (Japan) and is rated at HRC 58±2. Misen highlights this steel choice for sharpness and edge retention, which matters on a serrated knife because you want it to keep slicing cleanly over time.

How should I clean and maintain it?

Misen’s Use & Care guidance is to hand wash and dry immediately after use. For upkeep, the brand recommends sharpening every 4 to 6 months. If you would rather not handle sharpening yourself, Misen also offers a mail-in knife sharpening option.
