Questions?

How long will this knife stay sharp?

It really depends on how often you use the knife, and what items you’re cutting. When tested in the rigors of a professional kitchen, the Misen knife outperformed brands that cost 30-50% more. However, no knife — including Misen’s — will stay sharp forever. When the blade starts to dull, we’ll have our expert sharpeners bring it back to its original glory for you, starting at $11/knife.

Does this knife require special care?

Misen high-end knives are extremely easy to care for. Avoid the dishwasher, wash and dry after use, and you’ll never have an issue with your knife.

What are your blades made from?

We craft our Chef’s Knife with premium Japanese AUS-10 high-carbon stainless steel for two main reasons. First, it’s a steel that offers an excellent balance between toughness, durability, and razor sharpness. Second, it has 2x the carbon content of some other “premium” brands, which helps the edge stay noticeably sharper for a longer time.

How can your knife be as good as other high-end knives if it costs so much less?

Most knives cost so much because of traditional retail markups and other fees. You’d be shocked to know how little many well-known “premium” knives actually cost to make. By partnering closely with our factories and selling directly to you online, we’re able to offer an incredible knife at wholesale pricing with absolutely zero markups. Better materials, lower price.

Does it make sense to buy one knife, and not a set?

The single most important tool in your kitchen is the chef’s knife — it’s the workhorse you reach for most often. Investing in one great knife now will change your cooking for life. We actually designed our chef’s knife to replace entire knife sets; with a 15º blade angle and hybrid Japanese/German design, this knife can do 99% of your kitchen cutting.

But if you’re interested in a set, we offer 3- and 5-piece sets including our other knives — including Paring, Serrated, Santoku, and Utility — in addition to the Chef’s Knife.

How does your warranty and trial work?

We’re 100% confident you’ll love your Misen knife. Confident enough to give you a 60-day in-home trial. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, just send it back for a full refund. All Misen knives come with a lifetime warranty against defects. We will replace any defective knives.

Great Price for a Great Knife

Great for smaller bread items: baguettes, burger buns, pastries.

(You need the larger version for full size loaves.)

Why the 5‑Inch Serrated Knife Is Ideal for Everyday Slicing

The Misen 5" Serrated Knife is built around a 5-inch AUS-8 steel blade with 18 wide-set wave-style serrations — a compact, nimble size that handles everyday slicing tasks with ease. Whether you're working through a crusty baguette, slicing ripe tomatoes, or halving a bagel, the blade's balanced thickness lets it glide cleanly without crushing delicate foods. At 4.8 oz, it's light enough for smaller hands and long prep sessions alike.

The ergonomic sloped bolster naturally guides fingers into a safe pinch grip, and the durable POM handle holds up well through regular use. Care is straightforward: hand wash, dry immediately, and plan for a quick sharpening every four to six months. If you'd prefer an upgrade in steel, Misen also offers the 5" Serrated Knife in ACUTO440 steel for added rust resistance. For a broader kitchen setup, pairing this knife with the 6.5" Chef's Knife covers nearly every everyday cutting task between two well-balanced blades.
